The Simpsons too subversive for Venezuela

This news actually dates back to April, but I just found out about it so….

The popular cartoon was a big hit on the Televen channel, which wasn’t enough to stop it from being cancelled. Indeed, after receiving a truckload of angry complaints from parents, the Venezuelian television comitee decided to stop the show’s broadcast on grounds that it wasn’t a good role model for Venezuela’s youth.

Guess what they decided to fill the time slot with? Reruns of Baywatch Hawaii.
