About a week ago, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman stated the possibility of a new live action movie that would reboot the franchise on the big screen, despite TMNT‘s success. Just a few days later, current comic book writer Stephen Murphy called the story complete bull (more on that here). Now Peter Laird, the other co-creator chimes in to say that yes a new film is in the works, yes it’d be cool if Steve Barron, the first film’s director, came back and yes it will be live action, sort of.
The turtles themselves, and some of the villains (hopefully not Shredder) will be computer generated in the proposed film, while the locations and human characters will be real. Kind of like Garfield, or Scooby-Doo, get it? So there you have it, sound like it could potentially be awesome to me. Everyone’s favorite pizza-loving turtles deserve a comeback!
