Superman’s BvS Look Revealed

Warner Bros. has just released the first official picture of Henry Cavill as Superman in the forthcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and well…it looks exactly like an official picture of Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel except with a Dark Knight Rises background photoshopped in (so mission accomplished?). Check out the picture and some comments from returning director Zack Snyder after the jump.I wasn’t a big fan of the first movie, which did many things right but had just as many problems which ended up overshadowing the good. Snyder seems as confident as ever in his product however, praising Cavill and even explaining the odds and ends of his picture’s unwieldy title to USA Today:

but suffice it to say there is a ‘v’ in between their names” in the movie title, Snyder says. He explains that having the “v” instead of “vs.” is a way “to keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was written by Chris Terrio (Argo) from a story by Snyder and David S. Goyer (the Nolan Batman trilogy) is currently shooting in Michigan for a May 6, 2016 release. It is expected to lead into a full-blown Justice League movie and a host of other superhero pics for Warner Bros. and DC in an effort to catch up to Disney and Marvel Studios.

Returning from Man of Steel are Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Joining them are Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 4-6) as Wonder Woman, Jeremy Irons (Die Hard with a Vengeance) as Alfred Pennyworth, Holly Hunter (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) as a US Senator, Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) as Mercy Graves, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman and of course Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting) as Batman.

What do you think of Henry Cavill’s “new” Superman look?
