Holden McNeil and Banky Edwards are two comic book artists working on Bluntman And Chronic, a superhero series they created based on the dealing/mischief making duo Jay and Silent Bob. At a comic book convention, Holden meets female colleague Alyssa Jones and quickly develops an attraction, but there’s one problem, the fact that she’s lesbian. The two nevertheless strike a strong friendship and Holden falls harder and harder for Alyssa, much to the annoyance of Banky.

Chasing Amy stars Ben Affleck (Hollywoodland), Jason Lee (Alvin And The Chipmunks), Joey Lauren Adams (The Break-Up) and Dwight Ewell (The Guru). Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith reprise their roles from the previous films, Brian O’Halloran makes an appearance as another of his Clerks. character’s cousins and Ethan Suplee (Mr. Woodcock), Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone), Matt Damon (the Bourne series) and comic book legend Joe Quesada all make appearances. Liberace biopic announced

Steven Soderbergh sure seems to love biopics…Indeed, after Kafka, Erin Brockovich, his two Che films The Argentine & Guerilla, and the forthcoming The Informant about former vice president Mark Whitacre, the acclaimed director is now set to helm a movie based on Wladziu Valentino Liberace.

Liberace was an infamous American pianist/showman active from 1936 to his death in 1987 who struggled with continuous accusations of homosexuality, something which should play a significant part in the film. Michael Douglas (King Of California) is the frontruner for the lead role while Matt Damon (the Bourne films) is in talks to portray Liberace’s alleged lover Scott Thorson.

Due to a very busy schedule, Soderbergh won’t be able to start shooting until 2010. Here’s a video of Liberace performing in Las Vegas.

Matt Damon to discover the Cleveland Torso Murderer?

Matt Damon (the Bourne movies) is reportedly in talks to star in Torso for director David Fincher (Zodiac). If cast, Damon will play Eliot Ness, the famous Cleveland chief of police and former head of “The Untouchables” who spearheaded the search for the Cleveland Torso Murderer, so named because he only left the torsos of his victims, making them very difficult to identify.

Ehren Kruger (The Brothers Grimm) adapted the script from the Eisner Award winning comic book by Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko, itself inspired by the true crime story. Torso‘s release is currently set for next year.
