Actors J.K. Simmons (Burn After Reading) and Chris Messina (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) have signed on to star opposite Jessica Alba (The Love Guru) in An Invisible Sign Of My Own, aka the “Jessica Alba is a math genius” movie.
Marilyn Agrelo’s “Amelie”-style indie follows the transformation of a sheltered, math-obsessed teacher when a new science teacher arrives at her school.
Co-written by Michael Ellis and Pamela Falk (The Wedding Planner), the film is described as a “whimsical fable” and marks the fiction debut of director Marylin Agrelo (Mad Hot Ballroom). I call it “most unrealistic movie ever”.
The pretty but talent-deficient Jessica Alba (The Love Guru) has replaced America Ferrera (ABC’s Ugly Betty) in the lead of An Invisible Sign of My Own where she will play, get this, a math genius. Co-written by Michael Ellis and Pamela Falk (The Wedding Planner) and directed by Marylin Agrelo (Mad Hot Ballroom), the film will tell the story of a young math teacher consumed by numbers, who uses her subject to help her students. WTF?
Sure, she’s certainly nice to look at and I’ve actually somewhat enjoyed quite a few Alba films but always despite her annoying presence…Poor girl has to be one of the worst actresses with a decent career in Hollywood, ugh…Something tells me that if Denise Richards can’t be convincing as a nuclear physicist in The World Is Not Enough, Jessica Alba (who’s best known for pictures like the one above) certainly won’t make us believe she knows anything about equations.
Question: Have you ever witnessed Jessica Alba put in a “good” performance? Not a passable one, an actual good performance?
