Sex And The Animal Kingdom

Summit Entertainment has hired writing duo Julia Rottenberg & Elisa Zuritsky (several episodes of Sex And The City) to adapt the non-fiction book Kicked, Bitten And Scratched for the big screen.

The company has signed on for the romantic comedy “Kicked, Bitten and Scratched,” a story about love and the animal kingdom based on Amy Sutherland’s eponymous book about how she learned more about how to deal with a husband or boyfriend from an exotic-animal training course than she could from any therapist. Her research also gave rise to “What Shamu Taught Me About a Happy Marriage,” a New York Times op-ed article that became an online sensation in 2006.

An earlier version of the script was written by newcomers Jacob Koskoff and Todd Louiso and Naomi Watts (Funny Games) was attached to the film back in March.

New movie for the Sex Drive guys

Sean Anders and John Morris, respectively director/co-writer and producer/co-writer of the just released comedy Sex Drive have been signed to make a new movie for Summit Entertainment.

The untitled project concerns a slacker college student who has a child with a one-night stand and is then forced to care for the baby after the mother is killed in a car crash.

And through trial and tribulation (and a lot of gags) said slacker college student eventually matures into a non-slacker in a terribly heartwarming ending…classic, no?
